Bronze for Jurczok & Lorenz in the 29erXX-EC
Victoria Jurczok & Anika Lorenz won the bronze medal for the National Sailing Team in the “29 XX Seiko European Championship”, which was held from 27th April until 1st May 2012 at Roses on the north-eastern coast of Spain.
There were only ten ladies´ teams sailing the five days in the 29 XX for the title of European Champion. In a total of 13 races, Victoria Jurczok & Anika Lorenz (VSaW) achieved five rankings among the best three and won the bronze medal. The German Skiff team of the Audi Sailing Team Germany was only formed at the end of summer 2011, after the two lady sailors joined who has previously sailed in the 470 class. This week in Italy, the International Sailing Association (ISAF) will decide on the boat types that will be granted Olympic status from 2016 in the classes “Women´s Skiff” and “Multihull Mixed”. The 29 XX is on the shortlist for the Women´s Skiff”.
