The “seniors” of the Audi Sailing Team Germany showed how it is done in December. From 26th January to 3rd February 2012, two 470 teams from the Junior National Team are starting in the World Championship offshore from New Zealand.
You cannot blame the sailing lads and lasses for wanting to get away from the cold German winter to warmer realms in the southern hemisphere. In the “470 Junior Worlds” offshore from Auckland on the Northern Island of New Zealand, there are a total of 31 promising young teams sailing in two classes, men/mixed and women, to win the coveted title. Magnus Masilge & Moritz Klingenberg have started amongst the 21 teams in the group Men/Mixed and are currently fifth after ten races. The two men from Potsdam have already successfully taken part in the “Pre Worlds Regatta” and achieved the sixth place among 24 participants. Among the ten women´s teams, Annika Bochmann & Elisabeth Panuschka have started for Germany and are currently ranking silver with chances for the title.
