Olympic competitors at the boot 2012
For the 43rd time, the International boat exhibition took place on the exhibition grounds in Düsseldorf from 21st to 29th January. Five Olympic competitors from the Audi Sailing Team Germany (ASTG) were available to respond to questions.
At the most important yacht and water sport exhibition in the world, the “boot”, visitors can inspect and experience innovations and enhanced developments once a year ranging from the Opti to the Mega Yacht Premiers. Especially in this Olympic year, the German Olympic participants and sailors of the National Sailing Team are the centre of attention. Five Olympic participants from the ASTG, Robert Stanjek (Starboat), Simon Grotelüschen (Laser Standard), Ferdinand Gerz (470 Men) as well as Moana Delle und Toni Wilhelm (both RS:X) responded to questions asked by the water sport journalist Christoph Schumann in a live coverage. During the comprehensive conversations, the athletes told listeners about their sailing careers, their lives and their daily routine as top athletes, their successful qualification for the Olympics as well as the upcoming preparation for the most important regatta in their sporting careers so far, the Olympic Summer Games.
