STG presents Sailing Award for sporting achievements
On 10 February 2012, the Sailing Team Germany (STG) will be honouring outstanding achievements in the sailing sport of the past year with its own prize, the “Sailing Team Germany Award”. Prizes will be awarded in six categories.
The STG has nominated individual athletes, teams and officials as potential prize winners, but will leave the choosing of the winners to a specialist jury consisting of former winners of sailing medals in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The “Sailing Team Germany Award” will be presented in six categories: Sailor of the year, Trainer of the Year, Newcomer of the year, Yacht Club of the year, Award for lifetime achievement and Fairness prize of the year. “The ‘Sailing Team Germany Award’ will be the highest award to be presented in German top performance sailing. On this occasion, we will be bringing together the top German sailors, important officials, media representatives, our partners and the friends of the STG Initiative to present the awards and celebrate the outstanding sailing achievements of 2011″, declared Oliver Schwall, CEO of the STG. The “Sailing Team Germany Award” will be presented in the presence of invited guests for the first time on the occasion of the “Sailors Night”, which will be held on 10 February 2012 together with the new event partner of the STG, Nord Event, in the “Emporio Tower” in Hamburg.
