The DSV president is the patron of the sailing awards
Finally we have got there: For the first time the “Sailing Team Germany Award” is honouring exceptional performances in sailing. As co-initiator of the Sailing Team Germany (STG) and president of the German Sailing Association (DSV), Rolf Bähr has taken on the patronage for this event. TV reporter Nils Kaben will be conducting the awarding ceremony.
The prize winners of the “Sailing Team Germany Award” will have Hamburg at their feet at the awarding ceremony on 10th February 2012. Over 300 invited guests will witness the premiere on the 23rd storey of the newest venue of Nord Event, the EMPORIO, in the heart of Hamburg. Patron Bähr is looking forward to the “family celebration after the successful qualification for the Olympics” and is hoping that the “Sailing Team Germany Award” will become established in sailing and sports circles. The list of winners is now definite and will certainly deliver a few surprises. The STG persuaded the TV sports reporter Nils Kaben to do the presentation at the prize giving event. He has already worked together with Marcus Baur, Director der STG Academy, doing the live commentary of the racing during the Kiel Week 2011.
