Vice World Champions in the 470 Junior Class
They managed it: Annika Bochmann & Elisabeth Panuschka won the silver medal in the “470 Junior Worlds 2012″ (26th January to 3rd February 2012) offshore from Auckland (NZL). Helmswoman Bochmann had already won the Junior World Champion title (U21) the year before.
With a victory in the final race – the fifth racing victory overall during the WC – the two young sailors, who have only been sailing together since autumn last year, exhibited an impressive performance. In spite of difficult sailing conditions during the ten races, the junior sailors from the Audi Sailing Team Germany were finally only beaten by Afrodite Kyranakou & Jeske Kisters from the Netherlands who finished three points ahead. There were only ten teams altogether at the start.
Magnus Masilge & Moritz Klingenberg finished the WC in sixth place with ups and downs in the rating Men/Mixed rating, in which 21 teams took part.
