2.4mR
The 2.4mR is the smallest version of the Metre Rule classes and is thereby the “little sister” of the 12-Metre-Class. It is sailed at international and national regattas by disabled as well as non-disabled sailors. Its hull design allows adjustments to specific personal needs. The standard version uses foot-steering and the trim controls are controlled by hand. Depending on the athlete’s disability, the cockpit can also be rebuilt to include combination steering controls. A fore sail or an electrical winch for people without arms are permitted by the rules. It has been a Paralympic class boat since the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000.
